In this photo, I was about eight and in many ways, I still feel like that kid. This enduring connection to childhood is exactly why I love being around children so much. My goal is for them to feel both free and safe as they explore their unique qualities, talents, and strengths.
I believe it is vital to bring children back into direct contact with nature and the creative process. In an increasingly digital world, I want to offer them the space to get their hands dirty, to learn where healthy food comes from and how it grows, or to find their voice by creating their own documentaries and films. Through these activities, they do not just learn skills; they discover their own autonomy.
After working at Natuurfontein for a year, I transitioned into a freelance role to follow my own vision. Today, I teach my own programs through Just Move at five schools across Amsterdam and Amstelveen. My classes are a blend of nature based learning, filmmaking, and freestyle dance, giving kids the freedom to explore, create, and move in their own authentic way.
I also collaborate with Crea Kidz, leading outdoor workshops where children learn practical, grounding skills. Whether we are making a fire, crafting wooden flower pots from natural materials, or building child sized sculptures from branches and twigs, the focus is always on the harmony between creativity and the natural world.
