Hi, I am Ava.
Behind me stands my little green cabin, filled with precious plant extracts, a quiet space where I dream, create, and invite you to step away from the noise to find a scent that is truly yours.
Everything I make is rooted in aromatherapy, backed by professional training at Stichting Wellness under the guidance of Ellen Wagenaar and Drs. Harmen Rijpkema, alongside masterclasses in natural perfumery with Karen Gilbert. I work primarily with pure botanicals, meaning: essential oils, resins, absolutes, and extracts, and I use mostly organic ingredients honoring the balance of the living world.
Plants protect, heal, and nourish us, and they instantly shift our moods. Think of the uplifting nature of citrus, the grounding depth of vetiver, or the calming embrace of lavender. Scent has a direct line to the emotional center of our brains, speaking straight to your feelings, memories, and nervous system.
As a documentary filmmaker and green chef, my work is driven by a deep fascination with people and scenes, and a desire to make intimate, up-close stories. Scent has always been my compass in this exploration, acting as the ultimate storytelling sense. Living all my life in the bustling city of Amsterdam, I always sought a connection to nature by blending essential oils that kept me close to the natural world amidst the concrete and exhaust fumes. That deep personal bond is why I started Ava Botanica.
During a session or workshop, completely tailored to your emotions, memories, and personality, I will guide you step by step in crafting your own bottle. The result is a unique signature that acts as a soft shield, moving with you throughout the day.

Create Your Personal Perfume
Initial Discovery Call : I would love to meet you during a brief phone conversation to get to know each other and discuss your preferences.
Date Scheduling: After our call, we lock in a date for your personal perfume-making session and I will send you a form with questions for me to prepare your session.
Aromatherapy & Consultation: We explore your lifestyle, goals, and wellness needs (such as calming, energizing, grounding, or hormone balance) to select the natural aromas that work best for you. This functions as both a custom perfume creation and an aromatherapy session.
Your Take-Home Creation: You leave with a bottle of your bespoke botanical perfume—crafted primarily from fresh, organic ingredients produced in small batches.
Choose your bottle and experience
The Questionnaire & Session (1.5 Hours) You fill out a questionnaire and send it back to me at least one week in advance. This lets me pick out the right ingredients beforehand. When you visit, we spend a focused 1.5 hours finishing and perfecting your perfume. This option also uses mostly organic ingredient collection.

The Classic Session (3 Hours) A warm, creative afternoon. You get a 3-hour experience at my home studio, fully guided by me. For this option, we use my wonderful palette of mostly organic ingredients (about 90% organic) that are a bit more accessible and friendly in price.

The Signature Session using rare and precious organic ingredients (3 Hours) A deep, luxurious dive into aromatherapy and perfume making. We take all the time we need to build your scent step-by-step. For this option, we use rare and precious ingredients, like real organic rose oil (Rosa Damascena), fine sandalwood, neroli, and cardamom, mixed with lovely organic favorites like lavender and patchouli.

My home studio offers space for intimate groups of up to 4 people. If you book the same session at the same time, you'll receive a lovely discount per person:
- Duo (2 pers.): 10% discount p.p.
- Trio (3 pers.): 15% discount p.p.
- Quartet (4 pers.): 20% discount p.p.
(Please note: everyone creates their own unique perfume and goes home with a personal bottle).
