Creating bold, visually striking, and thought-provoking films is my aim. I'm a filmmaker based in the Netherlands, driven by my passion for imagery, which has propelled me to specialize more as a cinematographer and editor over the years after studying as a documentary film director. Almost all the films you'll find on my website are handcrafted.
Graduating from the Dutch Filmacademie in 2016 marked the beginning of my professional journey. Since then, I've been producing commercial videos that blend documentary storytelling. I've collaborated with companies such as Pool Worldwide, The Merge, Earforce, and De Amsterdamse Media Fabriek, working with clients including Suzuki, Demeter, Rose Stories, Rutgers, and Humanitas. In addition to my professional endeavors, I also take on freelance projects to expand my skills and explore various aspects of filmmaking. This includes capturing the stories of young, talented artists and delving into the narratives behind their creative journeys.
Establishing a comfortable atmosphere for my subjects during shoots is paramount to me. I focus on building a good relationship by being open about myself, listening carefully, and capturing the right moments. Creating an environment where subjects feel seen, heard, and empowered to share openly allows the vieuwer to engage with the subject matter on a deeper level, even when tackling controversial or daring topics. This intimacy is central to my approach.

A short documentary I directed during my third year at the Dutch Film Academy centers on Jan Foudraine, a psychotherapist whose influential book in the seventies disrupted the landscape of medical psychiatry, subsequently rendering him a persona non grata within the field. The documentary chronicles his final literary endeavor before his passing, encapsulated by the poignant sentiment, "I just called out for one last time" (Ik heb toch maar even geroepen).
'Amsterdam Cries' is a short documentary I crafted during my formative years at the age of nineteen. It delves into the dynamic transformation of a neighborhood where I resided at the time, illustrating the stark divide between the influx of affluent residents, colloquially referred to as 'yuppies,' and the longstanding local community centered around the iconic Albertcuyp market. The documentary captures the tensions arising from conflicts between market vendors, who traverse a roadway laden with goods for market construction, and cyclists prohibited from riding in the area. Through this lens, the documentary elucidates the frustrations directed towards the encroaching gentrification."
"Don't Let Go" is a short documentary that immerses viewers in the vibrant ambiance of a Chinese Karaoke bar in Holland, providing a unique window into a cultural phenomenon that transcends geographical borders.
